CAMPING MAX 1 Sauna & Bathing Guide
Sweat in Style – for Everyone!
Peace & Quiet in the Sauna and Pool Area
Our sauna and bathing area is not a nudist zone. Please wear a towel wrapped around your body or swimwear when outside the sauna.
Inside the sauna, nudity is customary.
However, please respect those who prefer to stay covered and sweat wrapped in a towel.
Please leave the indoor pool area dry.
Wet feet increase the risk of slipping, especially in the sauna and changing areas.
Please shower thoroughly before using the sauna.
This isn’t just for hygiene – showering removes cosmetics and body oils that can block sweating. Dry off well before entering – dry skin sweats faster and more efficiently.
Also shower after your sauna session, especially if you plan to use the relaxation rooms, thermal pools, or natural lake afterwards.
Always make sure to sit or lie completely on your towel in the sauna.
Your sweat should never drip directly onto the wood.
There’s plenty of space for games and running around – just not in or around the pools, or in the sauna and relaxation areas.
The classic Finnish sauna reaches up to 90°C (194°F).
In some saunas, infusions (Aufgüsse) are performed:
- After a pre-heating phase (5–10 minutes)
- Comes the infusion phase (6–8 minutes)
- Optional post-sweat phase (1–2 minutes)
Please do not enter or leave the sauna during an infusion.
The Bio Sauna is gentler, at around 60°C (140°F), with high humidity.
The upper benches are hotter.
If you're new to sauna bathing, start on the lower or middle benches.
To avoid dizziness or fainting:
- Sit up during the last 2 minutes of your sauna session
- Move your legs to maintain circulation
- This prevents blood from pooling in your lower body
Our Sauna & Bathing Area
Created for relaxation and taking time out.
A place to unwind and slow down. Here, guests from all over the world should feel completely at ease – even if their habits or temperaments differ.
There are just a few small things we kindly ask of you – they help ensure hygiene, health, and harmony for everyone, regardless of nationality.
Get some fresh air, move around, and get your circulation going. Then rub down with crushed ice – always in the direction of the heart.
If you're feeling fit, a cold sauna shower is a great refresher.
Now it’s time to rest:
Dry off well, wrap up warm, and relax in your bathrobe for at least 15 minutes.
A warm footbath can also be pleasant:
- Before sauna: to acclimatise
- After cooling down: helps prevent colds and reduces post-sweating
Do not go directly from the sauna into the thermal pool or steam bath. After every heat session, the body needs a proper cool-down.
Sauna time is relaxation time – so please keep your voice down and respect the calm atmosphere.
After showering, swimming, or sauna, please dry off completely before entering the relaxation rooms.
Always place a large towel underneath you when using the loungers.
It's more comfortable – and more hygienic!
Plan at least 2 hours for a proper sauna experience.
- First round: 8 to 12 minutes
- Second round: up to 15 minutes
- Always listen to your body.
More than 3 sauna rounds are not recommended – More is not always better.
Don’t go into the sauna hungry or right after eating.
Wait until after your final sauna session before drinking.
Recommended: mineral water rich in calcium and magnesium or diluted fruit juice.
Aim for at least 1 litre – and no alcohol, please!
Breathe in the soothing salt-water steam, which feels just like fresh sea air.
It cleanses and invigorates the skin and soothes the respiratory system – like a long walk on the beach.
Recommended use:
- 15 minutes per session
- 3 sessions with 30-minute breaks in between
- Ideal for sauna beginners due to its mild temperature.
- Experienced sauna guests often use the steam bath as a warm-up before the Finnish or bio sauna.
A healthy and relaxing pleasure that stimulates and balances the reflex zones for: Small intestine, stomach, pancreas, liver, heart, diaphragm

Mindfulness for a sensitive ecosystem
Let’s keep everyone’s favorite spot beautiful! We kindly ask all guests to behave considerately — regarding etiquette, swimwear, quietness, safety, order, and cleanliness.
Please shower before swimming. Sunscreen and similar products can harm the lake.
Access to the lake is only permitted via the designated stone steps or wooden pier. Use of the lake is at your own risk; there is no supervision.
Swimming is prohibited during thunderstorms.
- Children under 6 years old may only swim when accompanied by an adult.
- Please do not throw stones! Parents are responsible for their children.
- Dogs are not allowed in the lake.
The regeneration area with its plant system maintains the water quality and must not be entered.
Biological microorganisms are a natural part of the ecosystem of a natural swimming lake and cannot be completely eliminated.
In cases of misuse, damage, or contamination caused by negligence, the bather will be held liable for any resulting costs.
