Quality seal awarded for exemplary health promotion at the spa resort
Bad Füssing. They have undertaken extensive further training – and have now been rewarded for it. In the spa resort of Bad Füssing, Spa Director Rudolf Weinberger, in his role as Managing Director of the Bavarian Health Resorts Association (BHV), awarded four service providers the quality seal for “exemplary health promotion at the spa resort”. This brings the number in the Bavarian health resorts and spa towns to 60 quality seal holders from 55 businesses and institutions, he said with pleasure.
Rudolf Weinberger emphasised that the Bavarian health resorts and spa towns are setting standards in Germany’s healthcare landscape with state-of-the-art centres of expertise for spa treatments, rehabilitation and medical wellness. Health promotion and prevention are an important and supporting pillar in this. As health partners for active, health-conscious people, Bavaria’s health resorts and spa towns therefore provide a basis for a healthy life.
To promote the health of body, mind and soul holistically, outpatient spa treatment in Bavaria is supported by behavioural preventive health promotion measures. Health promotion has become an integral part of outpatient spa treatment in Bavaria. A wide variety of relaxation methods, exercise training, nutrition seminars and smoking cessation are intended to complement the success of the spa treatment in a meaningful and high-quality way. An important part of the BHV’s further training programme for obtaining the quality seal is the development and implementation of suitable course concepts for one’s own business or location – not only as part of outpatient preventive care, but also in the area of prevention for health-conscious guests and locals, as well as in workplace health management, according to course leader Gerhard Winklhofer.
According to Weinberger, healthy and motivated employees are both an economic foundation and a guarantee of success for companies. The “Alliance for Healthy Employees”, a cooperation between the BHV, AOK, DEHOGA and vbw under the patronage of Health Minister Melanie Huml, supports workplace health promotion. Health resorts and spa towns are ideal network partners for helping businesses save costs. A joint, sustainable prevention strategy must be developed for employees in order to counter the steadily increasing prevalence of common illnesses such as burnout, diabetes and obesity.
The quality seal is the recognised mark of guarantee for the highest possible quality in outpatient spa treatment in Bavaria. It is also a prerequisite for the full reimbursement of health-promoting seminars by statutory health insurance providers as part of outpatient spa treatment.
